Germany has imposed temporary restrictions on passenger traffic with India, which is experiencing a record-breaking increase in coronavirus infections as part of the second wave.
Even these individuals will be required to produce a negative COVID test before departure and will be subjected to a 14-day quarantine upon arrival. Although this rule also applies to those traveling to Schengen destinations through Germany, all nationalities are permitted to transit to non-Schengen destinations.
Five countries have been prohibited from flying to France: India, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and South Africa. In addition to a pre-boarding RT-PCR test, travelers entering France from these five countries will be required to undergo a mandatory antigen test upon arrival.
Only Italian citizens are permitted to join Italy from India, and only after passing a COVID examination before departure. Upon arrival, they will be quarantined. All other international visitors who have spent the previous 14 days in India are prohibited from entering Italy.
As coronavirus cases in India reached global records, the United Arab Emirates has suspended all flights from India, including transit passengers.
According to Transportation Minister Omar Alghabra, Canada has also suspended all incoming passenger flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days, citing a rise in cases of Covid-19 in flyers from the two countries. Cargo flights are exempt from the restrictions. Vaccines, personal protection devices, and other important goods will continue to be shipped smoothly on all-cargo flights.
Thailand joined a long list of countries that have prohibited Indians from entering. Certificates of entry (COE) given to non-Thai nationals scheduled to enter from India have been canceled, according to a statement from the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi.
Most travel to and from India has been barred by the United Kingdom as of Friday, April 23. The United Kingdom has put India on its Red List, which means that visitors who have visited India in the previous ten days will be refused entry. British and Irish passport holders, as well as UK citizens, will be exempt.
From April 24, all long-term pass holders and short-term visitors who visited India within the previous 14 days will be barred from entering or transiting via Singapore.

Australia has now entered the list of countries that have prohibited passenger flights to India. Due to “clearly present” risks of travel from India, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the ban would be in effect until at least May 15, stranding thousands of Australians, including high-profile cricketers.
